Companies using a “logistics hub” supply chain strategy can boost duty savings using back-to-back (B2B) Preferential Certificates of Origin (PCOO) by reducing complexity and using real-time visibility, according to Jennifer Ang, Integration Point Director-Global Solutions. Ang spoke on end-to-end tracking of PCOOs from order to final delivery at the International Compliance Professionals Association Annual Conference (ICPA) in Singapore on Nov. 8, 2017.

A B2B PCOO, issued to an exporting Free Trade Agreement (FTA) country for the re-export of goods allows businesses to claim the same benefit as the PCOO issued by the first exporting party, Ang noted.

Melissa Irmen, Integration Point Senior Vice President—Thought Leadership, discussed the complexities of Post Summary Corrections (PSC) in the age of the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) recently at the National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones (NAFTZ) Conference.

PSC are the means for making electronic corrections, via ACE, on entry summary data presented to and accepted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). PSC is an electronic replacement of ACE entry summary data. The filer transmits the new entry summary data along with a predetermined code reflecting the category of change.
